Alternative Therapies
I am studying hypnotherapy with The Quest Institute and loving it. The more I explore alternative therapies the more I see wondrous results without any drugs and chemicals. Being a Christian a lot of Christian friends say I 'should be careful' as many see alternative therapies as 'not of God'. My experiences and understanding is that (with the ones I have an understanding of) they utilise our own God given resources for the healing, there is nothing external going on or entering you. E.g. acupuncture is helping the energy flow within the body, cranial sacral therapy/massage does similar with the cranial sac fluid. Have you thought about or experienced alternative therapies?

Great thoughts and I'm so glad you are enjoying your course. I have found 'alternative therapies' to be far more effective than conventional medicine as they reach deeper than just treating symptoms.
I prefer not to throw drugs at my symptoms, because they mask what is really going on AND they contribute to negative effects on the environment. Only this week I was reading about the amount of drugs found in our drinking water supplies through people excreting them and putting unused medication down the toilet .
My take would be that God made us all, all the plants and herbs to heal us and gave us the knowledge to take responsibility for our own health. Everything comes from God, if that is your belief, so every alternative therapy is as good as the next!
I find that people often make these comments because they are scared of what they do not understand. Sometimes some gentle explanation of what you are doing can assuage their fears and help them to understand more so that they can be more supportive.
For me, I would not have got through a natural birth without hypnotherapy. I would undoubtedly ended up with a medically-managed birth. but using the power of hypnotherapy and harnessing my own subconscious I was able to give birth at home - much greener! and much safer and more gentle for me and my daughter.........
What would your friends make of something like reiki?
Keep up the great work with your site and good luck with the hypnotherapy course :)

Thanks for that. We did a hynpobirthing course which is how I got interested in hypnotherapy. I agree about the alternative (I guess I prefer the word natural) therapy getting to the heart of the problem rather than dealing with the symptoms. We have had a Reiki session and I thought it was fantastic. I was quite comfortable with it although I would like to know more about how they think they get the insights they do (or some do). I have a Christian friend who completed the first degree in reiki but is hesitant about doing the second as she is concerned about it conflicting with her faith - she is very open minded. She is going to look in to it further and think about it more.
Great blog by the way- I am going to add it to my links page.
