Loft Insulation
We applied for loft insulation through a local grant scheme (ending up being free!), see The Energy Saving Trust for details of grants in your area. Well 3 months later and we are still waiting. I just shows it is time to act now for next winter - do not wait until the spring/summer, you will forget and before you know it, it will be winter again! It is quick and painless and will save you lots of money - just need to be patient and wait for work to be done but if you act now you won't mind waiting during spring.

You are sill waiting?
I know that they are busy at the moment, but this really should be the outer limit of the wait. Have you had a survey? Are you awaiting installation?
I would really recommend giving them a quick call to make sure that they still know that you are waiting. Should be 12 weeeks maximum wait.
But yes, it does highlight the need for forward planning. The good news is that you will still feel benefits of a cooler home (relatively) if we get another scorching hot summer...

we had the survey, are waiting for the work. i rang them and they said there was a unusually long wait with this particular grant scheme. it is shame we have missed the savings for this winter, my fault for not practicing what I preached i.e. start in the spring!!
